The Roosevelt Island
Tramway
Survey 2007

The 2007 Tram Ridership Survey, administered by Doppelmayr CTEC,
INC.,
was conducted in order to identify existing Tram transportation
needs
and to better plan Tram improvements for Roosevelt Island.
The results are based on 92 mailed responses to a survey that
was distributed at the Manhattan Tram Plaza during the months of
April and May 2007.
The Survey was a two sided post card questionnaire with postage
distributed to 1100 Tram riders, yielding a response rate of 8.4%.
Riders were encouraged to rate their responses by using a simple
number system
of 1 through 5, 5 being excellent and 1 being poor.
Tram riders were also offered the opportunity to
submit any comments or suggestions they had to improve
operations at the Tramway. For a complete summary of responses
please click here.
Riders indicated a strong desire to increase the rush hour
service during the weekday and include rush hour service on the
weekends.
Improvement of the interior amenities of the Tramway were
mentioned by a number of respondents including: adding air
conditioning and extra support handles as well as light during
night rides.
