Southpoint Park Advisory

This Saturday, September 6th,Southpoint Park will be closed.
The outdoor movie presented by Rooftop Films has been moved from
 Southpoint Park to Firefighter's Field - please plan accordingly.

The movie will begin at sunset.

Roosevelt Island Bridge - Bridge Openings

NYC DOT Bridge Operations Unit will be performing openings on the Roosevelt Island Bridge
 for preventative maintenance. We will be conducting approximately 4 of these
 openings on September 8th, 2008 between 9am and 3pm.

Please be advised that each test opening will take anywhere from 8 to 10 minutes to be completed.  The test openings will be appropriately spaced to prevent the least amount of disturbance to vehicular traffic traversing the bridge.

Roosevelt Island Bridge - Roadway Deck Replacement

Beginning Tuesday, August 19, 2008 a narrow lane will be provided at the entrance to the Motorgate parking facility.  This is for the purpose of replacing the roadway deck on the Roosevelt Island Bridge.  Access will be provided to Motorgate at all times.  This operation will occur for approximately two months.
 

SUBWAY TRANSIT ADVISORY

Beginning August 25th, two sets of escalators (four in total) will be taken out of service for a month
as part of the escalator replacement project.

The escalators are located between the street and lower mezzanine.
During this time, the remaining set of escalators will be running in the up direction.

The MTA Elevators and Escalators group will be on call
should anything happen to the working escalators during the shutdown.

Roosevelt Island Bridge - Ongoing Project

Summer Weekend Work Schedule Announcement

As part of their rehabilitation effort of the Roosevelt Island Bridge, the New York City Department of Transportation
has advised us that beginning Tuesday October 9, 2007 and continuing until further notice, there will be a partial lane closure of the east (Astoria) bound lane, Mondays thru Fridays from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Two way traffic will be maintained over two reduced width lanes.
The effect will be reduced traffic speed over the bridge that may contribute to minor delays.

Bridge painting operations scheduled to begin on Monday, December 3rd, 2007,
will now commence on or about Monday, January 14th, 2008.

NYCDOT promises to keep us advised of any future actions that they take which will affect bridge use.
