In addition to motion pictures, Roosevelt Island locations have been used for television shows such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent, 60 Minutes, The Sopranos, Spin City, Third Watch and Unsolved Mysteries . Commercials, industrials, music videos and documentaries for the BBC and The Discovery Channel have also utilized Roosevelt Island’s unique settings.

Important photographers have come to Roosevelt Island to shoot for such magazines as Elle, In Style, Men’s Health, New York, Spin, Sports Illustrated, Vogue and Women’s Wear Daily. Sportspark’s locker room, in fact, was recently used as a location for a major Donna Karan men’s underwear ad campaign.

Production Facility: Roosevelt Island’s indoor, temperature controlled sports complex, Sportspark, was used as a sound stage for Paramount Pictures’ Keeping the Faith in the summer of 1999. Several full-scale interior sets were built and shot in the Sportspark gym for this major feature. With a clear ceiling height of 23.5 feet, this 8,400 square foot facility has adjoining changing and rest rooms containing showers, as well as office space. More recently Sportspark was also used as a holding and catering facility for Down to Earth, Spider-Man, and TV’s Third Watch.
